I am interested in applying for a role, where do I get an Application Form from?

When will you contact my referees?
All prospective teachers’ referees will be contacted after shortlisting has taken place but prior to attending an interview. If applying for a non-teaching role you can indicate on the Application Form that you would prefer us to hold back from contacting your current employer prior to interview. However, please note that this reference will be sought if an offer of employment is made.
I have a criminal conviction/warning, will I still be considered for the role?

The School will not unfairly discriminate against any applicant for employment because of conviction or other details disclosed. Please see our Safer Recruitment Policy for further information here.

Will you consider making reasonable adjustments for me?
If you require reasonable adjustments to be made, please contact our helpful HR team via email or by phone (01225 820 400).
Will I be informed if I have not been successful in the shortlisting process?

Due to the high volume of applications we receive at KES, we only contact applicants who have been successful in the shortlisting process. If you have not heard from us within a fortnight of the closing date it is likely you have not been shortlisted on this occasion.

I cannot attend the interview on the day confirmed, what should I do?

Please contact the HR team via email or by phone (01225 464 313). as soon as you can. Where possible we will look to re-arrange the interview.

When should I expect to hear back following an interview?

We aim to contact all interviewees within a week of the interview, if not before.

How long will you keep hold of my interview paperwork?

It is the school policy to hold all interview-based paperwork for 12 months. All confidential documents are disposed of securely.

Can I park at King Edward’s School?

Yes, there is visitors parking available at all three sites.

Where do I go when I arrive for an interview?

Your invitation to interview letter will confirm the address of where you need to go for the interview. Please bring your ID with you and sign in at the respective Reception as requested in your interview invitation.

Will I need to prepare anything for the interview?

Your invitation to interview will detail what to expect on the day of your interview, including a brief for any observed session and will highlight if you need to bring anything with you. Please note that the school systems do not accept USB’s therefore any presentations need to be forwarded in advance.

Can I wear my sports clothing throughout the interview process, or should I bring a change of clothing?

If attending school for a Sports based role with an observed session, you are more than welcome to wear your sports clothing throughout the day.
