Sixth Form Open Evening 2024 (OPEN)

Our next Sixth Form Open Evening is on Friday 20 September 2024. 

When completing your online registration form for this event, families will be invited to choose a preferred arrival time, to help with spacing and parking. The first group, (Group 1), has an allocated arrival time of 5.30-5.45pm, with the option to join the designated Headmaster's Talk at 6.05pm in the Sports Hall. The second group, (Group 2), has an allocated arrival time of 6.05-6.15pm, with the option to join the designated Headmaster's Talk at 7.00pm, also located in the Sports Hall.

Families will be able to tour the school with pupils, speak to experienced teaching staff and enjoy some refreshments in our fantastic Sixth Form Centre. If the weather looks to be inclement, please bring an umbrella, as some of the tour will be outside. Families will also have the opportunity to meet our Sixth Form team.

Sixth Form Open Evening Registration

Please note: Registered families will be emailed prior to the event date with a confirmed arrival group number (ie  Group 1 or 2). Regrettably, if a group reaches capacity, subsequent registered families will be added to the remaining group. We ask that families keep to these arrival times and suggested Headmaster's Talk wherever possible.

Each Headmaster's Talk is expected to last approximately 30-40 minutes. Details of your preferred time of arrival will also be sent to you via an automated response, once the registration form has been completed. We ask that you keep this email on file for future reference.

After you have parked on site, please make your way to the Wroughton Theatre to sign in.
The evening will conclude at 8.00pm.

Pre-Prep & Nursery Open Morning 2024 (OPENING SOON)

Our next Pre-Prep and Nursery Open Event is on Saturday 21 September 2024, to arrive and register between 9.15-9.30am.

During the morning, each family will be able to explore the School, speak to our experienced teaching staff, view our fantastic indoor and outdoor facilities and meet the Head of the Pre-Prep, Ms Jayne Gilbert. For the little ones, there will be lots of activities for the children to enjoy and take part in! Families are invited to ask questions throughout the morning. We ask that you please bring an umbrella with you if the weather looks to be wet, as some of your visit will be outside.

Our next Junior School Open Morning is on Saturday 21 September 2024.

There are two arrival slots available, which can be selected via the Junior Open Morning Registration form:

  • Group 1 Arrival/Reg: 9.00-9.15am
  • Early Morning Tour of the School
  • 10.00-10.45: Head’s Talk (and Children’s Activities/Stay & Play)
  • Continue tour/meet staff
  • Finish: 12:00noon
  • Group 2 Arrival/Reg: 9.40-9.55am
  • 10.00-10.45: Head’s Talk (and Children’s Activities/Stay & Play)
  • Tour the School/meet staff
  • Finish: 12:00noon

During the event, the Head will give a welcome presentation at 10:00am. At the same time, there will also be four optional workshops and a stay & play session for children to attend if they wish; these are available to book via the online registration form. 

Please note that activity Options 1-4 are only available for children who will be in Year 2 or and above from 1st September 2024 and the Stay and Play session is for children in Reception or Year 1.

  1. Option 1: 'Beat it' Musical Workshop (Music)
    Make some noise with the samba drums in this ‘hands-on’ musical workshop.
  2. Option 2: Toytastic (DT)
    Put your practical skills to the test by making your very own toy in DT.
  3. Option 3: First Steps in Batik (Art) 
    Create a beautiful batik design using all the colours of the rainbow.
  4. Option 4: Volcanoes! (Science)
    What happens inside a volcano? Find out by making your own volcano and testing chemical reactions to get an epic eruption!
  5. 5)    Option 5: Stay & Play SessionSuitable for children who are in Reception or Year 1 from 1st September 2024. Children may also be accompanied by an older sibling.

The above sessions will take place from 10.00-10.45pm. Families are welcome to tour the school throughout the morning and speak to our friendly staff and pupils.

Our next Senior School Open Morning is on Saturday 21 September 2024.

The first group, (Group 1), has an allocated arrival time of 8.30am, with the visit concluding with the Headmaster's Talk at 10.30am in the Sports Hall. The second group, (Group 2), has an allocated arrival time of 10.30am, with the visit concluding with the Headmaster's Talk at 12.30pm, also in the Sports Hall.

During the morning, families will be able to join a tour with a pupil, walk around the site, speak to knowledgeable and enthusiastic teachers and enjoy some delicious refreshments in our dining hall. If the weather looks to be inclement, please bring an umbrella, as some of the tour will be outside.

Head north on the A3039 To Pulteney Bridge
Turn right onto Argyle St/Great Pulteney St
Cross the road into Sydney Gardens (via The Holburne Museum)
Continue through Sydney Gardens and exit at the far end, turn left onto Sydney Rd, followed by a right onto Warminster Rd and shortly after a sharp right onto North Road
Continue up North Road and enter the site via the Middle Entrance – Enter the Wroughton Theatre to register your arrival

STARTING POINT: Cycling from Bath Spa Railway Station/Bus Station
Approx cycling time: 13 mins (1.3 miles)
There are multiple ways in which you could cycle to KES, including using the canal tow path. Below are directions based upon the most direct route via major roads in the shortest time. (Please note: The suggested route below may not be suitable for young children). Additional cycle routes can be found via Google Maps.
Head North on the A3039
Turn right onto North Parade
Turn left onto A36 towards the Holburne Museum/Sydney Gardens
Turn right on to Warminster Rd then take a right onto North Road (be prepared that this is a steep hill climb)
Continue up the hill and enter the site via the Middle Entrance. Cycle wracks are located via the Lower, Middle and Upper Entrances

King Edward’s Senior School is located on North Road to the north of the City. For Sat Nav users, please input postcode BA2 6HU, which will navigate you directly to the School.

Car parking is available on site via the Lower Entrance from North Road. Please make your way to the Sixth Form Open Event reception in the Wroughton Theatre. Staff and pupils will be on hand to direct you.
