two kes musicians in final of bath young musician of the year 2024
All at KES wish Indira and Edward, two talented musicians, the very best of luck in tomorrow's Bath Young Musician of the Year final, organised by Mid Somerset Festival.
Hoping to follow in the footsteps of last year's winner, Dotty (now an OE), Indira and Edward are among fivemusicians performing tomorrow.
Wishing them them the best of luck, Rupert Drury, Director of Music at KES, said:
"We are so thrilled that Edward will be performing tomorrow at the after his triumphs playing the hugely challenging and virtuosic Flute Concertino in D accompanied by Bath Philharmonia in our 2024 Gala Concert to over 1,000 in the audience. His extremely well-presented playing displays so much vibrancy and maturity thanks to his strong, focused projection and tone, matched with great technical assurance and a deep connection to the pieces he is performing. We wish him every success.
"Indira is a very special musician and it is once again, wonderful that she been chosen to perform at this year’s Young Musician of the Year still at a young age. Her cello playing is mesmerizing in not only its technical facility, but also its richness and flexibility of tone, her musicianship developing so much in the past year through her solo performances in the Forum and Holburne Museum providing further insight into the styles of music she is performing. Indira is so expressive when she performs, and we are very excited by this new, challenging and exhilarating programme that she has created and mastered. We wish Indira every success and know that she will enrapture her audience, with the evening’s experience taking her playing up yet another exciting level."
