“It’s already looking like another year of outstanding success for KES pupils, applying across a wide range of subjects and institutions and proving their unending ambition, talent and enthusiasm for academic learning,” said Mr Thomas, Head of UCAS at King Edward’s.
The UCAS team at KES provides a range of services to students and includes specialist support for applications to competitive undergraduate courses, Medicine and Veterinary Science degrees and applications to overseas HE institutions, including US Ivy League universities.
Mr Burns, who leads support for competitive university applications said, “We are delighted that nine KES pupils have received conditional offers from Oxford and Cambridge this year. 'Oxbridge' is not the be all and end all of academic success, but it remains an exceptional achievement for those individuals in receipt of an offer. We are encouraged that the number of KES pupils with the confidence and ability to apply remains so high. We are also delighted that the spread of subjects has been so broad, encompassing music, mathematics, and everything in between.”
In addition to university offers, KES pupils are also in receipt of offers from creative arts institutions including Art Foundation courses, Music Conservatoires such as the Royal Northern College of Music and Dance Schools such as Laine Theatre Arts.
Alongside the many excellent Higher Education offers, the KES Careers team, led by Mrs Rees-Roberts, also advises KES pupils wishing to apply for some of the top apprenticeship schemes in the UK and we are delighted that pupils are already in receipt of offers including a place on the Deloitte Bright Star Degree Apprenticeship for Auditing and Finance.
